Avignon

Friends had said Avignon was a great place and Cat had read a few books about its history. It certainly looked like a great place in the guidebook. The same could be said for the Ishikawa's hotel, the Hotel du Lavarin, which looked great in its webpage, but when the Ishikawas got there, reality proved quite different. First, the lamp wouldn't work in their room so they were given another. They noticed the hotel was curiously empty and were told it was a holiday. The restaurant had a great menu but served almost nothing but German-flavoured dogfood and there was no restaurant or market within walking distance. The fed-up Ishikawas took a taxi to a cheap Ibis hotel by the train station the following day. Avignon has some interesting palaces and good restaurants. Fumiyo danced on Avignon's famous bridge. They did some laundry.
